[FONT=Century Gothic]FILE SHARING: DGA now has a file server. It is accessed at the LAN, by opening an explorer window and typing "//server". Alternatively it can be found on the network when browsing.[/FONT]
[FONT=Century Gothic]This is purely there as a fast way of communicating files required for gaming (ie, mods etc). We take no responsibility for the material found on this machine, and anything illegal will be promptly discarded before the end of each LAN.[/FONT]

[FONT=Century Gothic]HELPERS: If you'd like to help with setup or packup we appreciate it. Arriving promptly ensure your help, as well as staying to the end.[/FONT]

[FONT=Century Gothic]MONITORS & COMPUTERS: It's not unusual for people to have large machines these days. Each table is approximately 2400mm's accross, which permits 800mm's of useable area for each person. Additionally they're approximately 900mm's deep. How you set yourself up in that area is your choice. If you have equipment that will overhang this area, arrangements can sometimes be made to house you on the end of a table so as to not interfere with other gamers. There is no guarentee you will have room if you do not fit in this space.[/FONT]

[FONT=Century Gothic]SPEAKERS: Small desktop speakers are permitted, and must be used accordingly. Do not leave music playing while you're away from your machine, and be mindful of the time of day (or night) when you adjust your volume.[/FONT]

We'll be making efforts to ensure all keyboards are the same this time around. This is open to every paying entrant. The prize is awarded to the first person to complete the keyboard with the majority of keys places correctly. If you complete the keyboard, and one key is wrong, then you'll have to fix the fault, and return for a recheck.[/FONT]
[FONT=Century Gothic]The check is stopped when an error is found, and continued after the correction is made.[/FONT]

[FONT=Century Gothic]+ Mouse Toss - There is a target on the ground, you have a mouse. Throw that mouse using the demonstrated throwing technique (minimum three orbits) into the target. Knocking out other mice is allowed.[/FONT]

Grid is Sweet as. sif ditch that. plus a few people don't mind playing grid.
but i reackon we also add a bit of COD4 Modern warefare or COD5. and play less CSS it's old and boring :P

Agreed on Grid, it's popular as hell once it gets going, just the last two lans it was a little quiet. ^_^

What about a Wii comp? I remember the Wii Sports Tennis one being HEAPS of fun.

We won't be having Digital TV this time, it was a one off for the football/rugby.

Games are all doable though.

hell yeah a Nintendo Wii Comp or some Guitar hero for in between games or people who dont like playing certain games that are going on at the time. would be fun to have going on the projector.

I agree with GH... It's a little bit lame, and while there'd be people into it, there are plenty of them who aren't... Something more universal would be the go. Wii Tennis was definantly fun. ^O^

Some new games out since last LAN. Red Faction: Guerrilla, Operation Flashpoint 2, Dream Killer. Havent played the last 2 yet but Red Faction looks like it could be great deathmatch fun. Destructible enviroments, jetpacks, spinblade launchers :D
Will be looking to give them a go at the LAN.

Should do up a poll on what games everyones interested in, to help with Timetables or whichever, cause if people are going to be playing WC3 again I'm not going.

I have gotten RedFaction too. It looks like it could be some awesome fun.

It's never compulsary... We don't have a firm timetable up yet either. I'd be suprised if WC3 is as big this lan as it was the last one... Usually it only gets big around every second or third lan... rarely consistently over many.

Additionally, there will be new games for this LAN that'll be popular.

Xolares, while I can't stop you from not coming... It hasn't escaped our attention, particularly the last lan with too much CSS... We're going to be trying something this next LAN to reduce it, and hopefully prevent it from being the game that everybody falls back on. That's not to say it's banned, far from it, but certain things attribute to its popularity.

Additionally, I seem to recall you playing it quiet a bit at the LAN, even when others were playing other stuff. ^_~

Additionally, when we DO have them, we will be strictly preventing Clans from working together.

Just keep in mind guys that we will be losing 5-6 people from the event if we cut CSS out completely. I say we bring back Vegas 2, Farcry 2 and if people want to play CSS, then let them but we should plan events that will hold people's interests.

For those of you who do whinge and moan about not playing the games you like - back in the day, the admins would scream out that a game is starting in 15 minutes. You then had to get the correct files and get into it or else it would start without you. The times that you would sit back and not participate, you'd be kicking yourself because or the amount of yelling and fun banter that would arise from those who would be playing.

The lesson is; go with the flow - you'll be surprised at what you will find fun.

First of all, I resent all of you playing CSS with us and getting involved on the night, then all going home and getting on the forum and having a cry.

secondly, if you dont want to play a CSS comp, DON'T PLAY IT!!!!

thirdly, we play so much CSS because all my mates only come for the CSS and i spent the time and effort in making a CSS server and implementing it at the LAN. if you want to play something else, maybe you should try and actually make some effort towards making it happen???? you can't all sit back and expect Lothar Kagetsu and Dragon to do all the work for you, they're there to game first and foremost.

fourthly, it IS a public LAN, I WILL be bringing the server, I WILL be bringing my clan (r3fluX), and in an attempt to combat everyone being split up into fail teams and having no fun, we challenge any clan or any one who forms a clan to a best of 3 clan war.

Just to re-itterate, we are NOT BANNING CSS... We're simply trying to refocus attention elsewhere. If you WANT to play CSS we're not going to stop you... What are we going to do if you did want to play anyway?

Ah so many games out! (even on the day of the LAN no less). Probably be a total Borderlands, L4D2 fest. Oh well, can always play the others in the future.

I agree, we should have a pretty good LAN this time I think. It'll definantly be feature filled.

However, I was a bit of a miracle worker the last lan, getting HD TV working without an antenna, and repairing (eventually) the interwebs.
