Few things that have annoyed me about this game immediately.
1. That stupid f*cking robot.
2. The FOV is too low.
3. Seeing those start-up videos every time I launch the game.
4. Lack of v-sync = screen tearing constantly.
5. That drifty, laggy mouse feel.
The first I can't fix, but the rest I have, but first you need to track down your INI files (USER NAME\Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config in Vista/Windows 7).
2. First, open WillowInput.ini and find "WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput" - you will notice there are no pre-existing bindings here, bar a few lines.
When you are in a multiplayer game, sprinting will reset your FOV. The solution is this:
Put the FOV command you want on not only your sprint key, but also all your movement keys.

But, if you're a Steam user, this will make all keys on your keyboard stop working in game. To fix this:

1. Add the above custom keybindings to WillowInput.ini
2. Start Borderlands and go to the Options menu on the title screen, Mouse/Keyboard, then Keybindings. You will notice they are all blank, press Reset To Defaults.
4. Exit Borderlands, and now open up your WillowInput.ini, you will notice the game has now stashed all of the default keybindings under [WillowGame.WillowPlayerInput] that weren't there before.
5. Now re-add the above custom keybindings to the end of the rest of them, and you're good to go!
Of course, you can change what keys are bound to what, and change the FOV to something other than 106 if you don't like it.
3. Next, open WillowEngine.ini and make the following changes:
Find "FullScreenMovie" and comment out the videos, so the segment will look like this:

4. To enable v-sync, still in WillowEngine.ini and find "UseVsync" and change it to TRUE as per:

5. as per Left 4 Dead 2, the only way I could get my mouse working as responsively as it should is to go back and disable Vsync. If anyone finds a better way around it, let me know.
