Looking at getting a Solid State Drive to go with Windows 7
This is the one I am thinking of getting (because its one of the cheapest :P)

Seems to get decent reviews, anyone tried it before or know of something else?
here's what i've read.
the gskill falcon is the same hardware as the ocz vertex, but the gskill support, tools, and firmware updates are either non-existant, shit, or very very late in comparison.
but the G.skill is much cheaper.

SSDs are most definitely a technology where you get what you pay for. dont skimp if you're buying one at the moment.
Id rather buy some cheaper ones and raid 0 with parity than pay $2200. Same end result, much less spent.
WE got a few Corsair CMFSSD-64D1 drivers for our work machines, ATM i am installing Win7 Ulitmate 32bit. So far she running bloddy quick :).
I paid $260 for these Corsair 64gb drives, happy so far.
Where did you pay $260 for those? I want to get a few and cheepest price I can find is $290 + freight.

SSD rundown as i have discovered so far:
Bigger is better = faster, however more expensive
34nm FTW
Intel drives are on paper and in real world tests, the fastest for average gaming/OS use about (be warned they released the TRIM tool, then removed it very fast due to problems)
New second gen SSD supports many more tools and options to prevent any problems associated with SSD drives, if you are getting one, make sure its gen 2
Having said all that i just got a second hand OCZ 64 gb SSD, witha firmware update is running sweet. Using that as an OS and standalone (non steam) games drive, and using raptor 150 for all other Steam based games.
Personally I'm running a single 128GB OCZ Vertex. It hasn't missed a beat, and was the speed vs dollars sweet spot when purchasing.
It holds all of my work, the full Adobe Creative Suite, full MS Office Suite and my first person shooters. More than enough room for all primary tasks.
I then have 2.5TB storage on my HTPC, which holds everything else.
