magic the gathering nostalgia

with the announcement of magic for the PS3, i was inspired to look up the old microprose MTG PC games. (spells of the ancients, manalink, etc)

i was pleasantly surprised to find that as the game is now more than 10 years old, it's copyright has expired, and not only is it abandonware, but also been modded and updated to incorporate new rules and tons of new cards.

has a brief play this afternoon and while its main menu is a bit shit, the rest seems to be pretty awesome.

ok not sure where i read that, but either way it appears to be abandonware.

effectively, anything created while you are alive, will not be out of copyright until WELL after you are dead.

I got back into it a little while ago, damn cheap boxes of card in Japan, I couldn't help myself! >.<
