I know SLR is better yadda yadda, but I want good quality coupled with portability. You can't exactly put an SLR in your back pocket.
Recommendation: Good point and shoot camera

I am very happy with my 10mp Nickon S60 as a point and shoot. But to be expected night photos are not so good.

Lumix is great but very very noisy if you plan to use it at night...
Canon Ixus are all nice all rounders... Any of the two you can't go wrong but

Even tho i prefer a heft and shoot SLR, Liana's canon ixus seems quite good. Above average night shooting from what ive seen, and mini hdmi connections is cool too.
