Thanks for the post. The next loaction will have the power issues and access issues all sorted out for sure. If the Library staff had have been there when they said they would be there then we would have had all the power issues sorted out. As it was everyone rushed in and started plugging away at random and the situation turned to shite. However after a few little hiccups we sorted most of the power problems out and gaming was not that affected. Cant stress enough for people to bring extension cords and double adapters next time.

The LAN rocked, it went rather well... Food arrived ontime aswell =).
Just a few little things I think could be picked up on.
1) More tables, We had 4 people cramed onto one table where I was sitting...Due to the limited mouse space, I had to turn up the mouse sensitivity in CounterStrike. It would have helped if some people put their Case on the ground, like the majority of us, But I guess they thought they were to "Special"
2)Damm lights were annoying, I dont have an anti Glare Screen =( Just gotta figure out how to turn the lights off next time.
3)What happened to the dedicated server for CS? It was up at the start of the lan, then on the 2nd day I found myself hosting Counterstrike most of the time. Not good when there were more the 16 people in my server... Framerate would drop =(

4)Sound... I think it should be stressed further that speakers shouldn't be allowed. When music is played, Not everyone is gonna like the song, so theres gonna be complaining. And while playing games, its really annoying hearing the sounds of a different person when your trying to hear whats coming out of your own headphones.

I think all those who help organise DGA 2 would agree with me when I say that the most annoying problem in the world was the lack of staff when we arrived. You see the tables were delivered the day before and all power and netwokring was gonna be done b4 ppl arrived. BUT we got locked out because someone screwed up with the times. Howie says she told him to be there at 12:30 we were there at 12:30 they weren't. I simply cannot stress enough how pissed off I am with the library and have since vowed to never return.

I was able to drop in for a look a few times ( still waiting on my new PC ).
I do have a suggestion...
Rather than every one having small niggles at the organisation of the Lan, why don't more people offer to help set up and organise. I know when I finally get my ass into gear for the next lan I will put my hands up to help.....

TNT2Pro.... 16people PLUS was getting 10 to 12 frames aswell =)
Luckily my Ram helped me out a little, But that Geforce is still waiting to hop into my computer =)
Ohh, and the 10/100 Network card made sure everyone else was getting about 40ping...
I kept getting spikes into the 500's on your server Korny... Not sure if that was your network card, of because everyone on the dark side of the room were transfering files =)
(Went for a walk over to that side and ever screen had a file transfering box on it....)

1.Neo - Bite me. The only time that it was turned up was at the request of people when i played certain songs, other times it was just loud enough for me (except when playing with AWP and sub settings)
2.Korny - There are no words to describe. I gave u a perfectly working 100 mbit card which u somehow managed to stuff up the install for (was an intel 10/100 pro) which latrer worked fine in two other computers.
3.Flammable - I had to turn the system up just to get over your warbling cracked and breaking teenage voice.

I think the LAN was put together very well seeming every rushed in and decided they would plug in any ware and every ware, Then Blame Me for MY power boards safety fetcher. Serve ya self-fucken right for overloading the pore thing.
But after the power problems and network problems (Caused by people rushing in and not letting the organisers get the room prepared due to the lateness of the library opening) every thing went smooth. There was a bit of a let down in the attitude of some gamers and we all know who I’m referring to.
Although I didn’t attend LANDED form what I’ve head the entry fee for DGA is not to dear $20-30 seems a bit much to me.
I would of liked to see a few more volunteers to help clean up on the end, gamers shouldn’t be asked to but should have the curtesy to do so and offer there assistance. All in all I think the DGA LAN under the circumstances was very well organised and a lot of fun. Not saying to much but DGA 3 is gonna OWN over any LAN held in DARWIN even LANDED. All ready had my sneak peek at the venue today with MortaR and TN1.

if you are, its going to be a botch on some low end cpu's. i have a p3-733mhz,256mb ram, and a geforce 2 gts 64mb ddr, and i have fps problems in only 1024x768. so if u do decide to make a server, with it, i suggest the lower end systems dont install it because it will run like a peice of shit.

Eater's speaker/subs are kewl... they rock up pretty good but they're on the wrong place... I asked the question before going to 2DGA and TN1 specifically said that only HPhones/HSets are allowed.

I really wish i could see everyone's impressive speakers im sure they are all very loud and stuff, but, unfortunately due to power problems noone is allowed to bring speakers to LANded. We barely have enough power points for the number of people coming let alone having speakers and big giant sub woofers to go with them.
So no speakers, and if you bring them myself or layoric will look after them until LANded is over or you wish to take them home.
