The interesting and somewhat liberating feud over games classification continues to build, giving gamers around the country a real sense of hope that perhaps someday in the not too distant future, we'll be able to make our own purchase choices, legally.
ABC News recently put together a brief report on the topic titled "Fair Game?", and is available to watch at their website. In it, we hear from Michael Atkinson yet again, who yet again makes some abundantly ignorant statements; "this is a question of a small number of very zealous gamers trying to impose their will on society, and I think harm society".
That sentence should be of particular interest, as for quite a time the video games industry has rivaled that of other mainstream media - in some cases, toppling other mediums in dramatic fashion. Considering the size and worth of the industry, and then considering that the average gamer's age is now mid-30 as opposed to mid-teen, I dare say the only real harm to our society is this blatant censorship.
