Even if like Aion it's short lived, I reckon it'd still be a good bit of fun while it lasts. I thought we could use the acronym of GU, but make it something uber-lame, relating to space. "Galactic Unity" or something else we can make fun of.
How serious it would be would depend entirely on participation enthusiasm and interest in the longevity of the guild and game... who knows if the majority will even keep playing after a couple months. That's a bridge we shall cross when we come to it I guess.
To create a fleet you need five people online, in a team and all on the spacedock together in the same instance. Then someone can walk up to that fleet chick and create one for GU.
If you get stuck on "The Ultimate Klingon" you probably need to fly to another system in the sector. eg A good Day to Hide - Go to H'atoria Solar System.
Quote: im captain now im starting to agree with some of the other STO players that the galaxy class is slow at turning and it drifts really bad!! XD Shields feel wet tissue weak on the defiant tier. its a test of loyalty to the class until the next tier. unless its science ship class, then it just rocks.
I don't mind the galaxy class turn rate during combat, but it's a joke that it takes longer to turn and get the loot than it took to defeat the enemy. It's also incredibly frustrating when the quickest way to get to an objective that appears behind you, is to orbit the central celestial body rather than just turn around.
yeah, feels like they've made the weaknesses at T4 far more pronounced. as jay said: the defiant class shields and hull are fricken ridiculous. half the time my mouse doesnt even reach my science team before my shields are gone and my hull is evaporating away. really hoping they dont nerf Reverse Shield Polarity as has been mentioned on the STO forums - without that i wont survive ANY 5+ ship encounters :/
i fear for my Cerberus at T5... expecting it to not even have shields at this rate ><
additionally - new post on the STO site about skills that's worth a read: http://www.startrekonline.com/node/1158
Quote: [...] though these skills currently become less useful in the endgame. However, we are in the process of changing this. All ship skills will grant some bonus to the ship above it. So an Assault Cruiser will benefit from Starship Captain, Cruiser Captain, Heavy Cruiser Captain, Exploration Cruiser Captain and Assault Cruiser Captain, but it will get the most benefit from Assault Cruiser Captain Skill. So if you want to maximize your Assault Cruiser, you will need all those skills. Note, the Assault Cruiser will not gain any benefit from the Star Cruiser Captain skill and vice-versa. The bonuses only affect ships upwards along the tree, not laterally.
cool will do the survey once i register my game, cant at the moment cause im still on free play time. have been on the grace period till yesterdays patch then it ended; now im on a 10 day trial card.
