GU Star Trek Online guild?

Even if like Aion it's short lived, I reckon it'd still be a good bit of fun while it lasts. I thought we could use the acronym of GU, but make it something uber-lame, relating to space. "Galactic Unity" or something else we can make fun of.

Any interest in this?

Post 2

Galactic Unity.... what have you been smoking?

Post 3

Gorn from Uranus?

Post 4

lol gobblers of uberness

Post 5

I'd prefer a semi-serious approach to the game in live, but im up for a mockery in beta.

Post 6

How serious it would be would depend entirely on participation enthusiasm and interest in the longevity of the guild and game... who knows if the majority will even keep playing after a couple months. That's a bridge we shall cross when we come to it I guess.

Post 7

What about Omega Directive or GU's Omega Directive or Project GU

Post 8

unity sounds like a good idea

Post 10

Post 13

yeah, im hanging out for some fleet action :)

Post 14

STO looks like WoW UI

Post 15

We need 5 ppl online, at the same time, to form a Fleet,

Post 16

ill join im on nearly all day (kitty@xolares)

Post 17

To create a fleet you need five people online, in a team and all on the spacedock together in the same instance. Then someone can walk up to that fleet chick and create one for GU.

Post 18

Logging in now if my Internet doesnt die in its arse.

Post 19

need 3 more! =)

Post 20

Always seem to run into exploding ships.

"Sir, the enemy ship has a warp core breach in progress."
"Prepare for ramming speed!"

At least crew turnover rate is high enough that nobody is around long enough to lodge a complaint. ;)

Post 21

haha have had issues with my escort ship and core breaches - have 50 crew i think - two breaches and i'm a ghostship ><

Post 22

Bump.

Post 23

Two a fleet make not.

We bothering with this still?

Post 24

i think we should - tomorrow night - 9pm everyone who wants in, login :)

Post 25

15mins to go I think.

Post 26

ONE MORE FUCKING PERSON LOG IN NOW. FUCK SAKE.

Post 27

OK be in shortly

Post 28

Post 29

fleet formed.

jay, aegis, lenko, me, bam stroker managed to get it done

Post 30

also some epic fleet combat there last night

Post 31

If you get stuck on "The Ultimate Klingon" you probably need to fly to another system in the sector. eg A good Day to Hide - Go to H'atoria Solar System.

Post 32

I left the clan! Due to paladins normal moronic ways!

Post 33

ROFL.

Post 34

you mean you QQ'd and left and just thought you'd hand out blame where you most want it to land.

Post 35

Guh! Fleet rank. I wish they hadn't included that. That's why I didn't promote anyone beyond member last time.

Post 36

yeah couldnt help myself - i promoted everyone from the creation team to leader (except lenko - had to make him a 'member' =) )

Post 37

im online most nights now, but id be a fair bit behind you guys as i only just started
but if u wanna have some fleet action just lemme know

Post 38

I've barely played, but you can mostly blame the BC2 Beta for that =)

Post 39

im captain now im starting to agree with some of the other STO players that the galaxy class is slow at turning and it drifts really bad!! XD

I don't mind the galaxy class turn rate during combat, but it's a joke that it takes longer to turn and get the loot than it took to defeat the enemy. It's also incredibly frustrating when the quickest way to get to an objective that appears behind you, is to orbit the central celestial body rather than just turn around.

Post 42

yeah, feels like they've made the weaknesses at T4 far more pronounced. as jay said: the defiant class shields and hull are fricken ridiculous. half the time my mouse doesnt even reach my science team before my shields are gone and my hull is evaporating away. really hoping they dont nerf Reverse Shield Polarity as has been mentioned on the STO forums - without that i wont survive ANY 5+ ship encounters :/

i fear for my Cerberus at T5... expecting it to not even have shields at this rate ><

additionally - new post on the STO site about skills that's worth a read: http://www.startrekonline.com/node/1158

Quote:
[...] though these skills currently become less useful in the endgame. However, we are in the process of changing this. All ship skills will grant some bonus to the ship above it. So an Assault Cruiser will benefit from Starship Captain, Cruiser Captain, Heavy Cruiser Captain, Exploration Cruiser Captain and Assault Cruiser Captain, but it will get the most benefit from Assault Cruiser Captain Skill. So if you want to maximize your Assault Cruiser, you will need all those skills. Note, the Assault Cruiser will not gain any benefit from the Star Cruiser Captain skill and vice-versa. The bonuses only affect ships upwards along the tree, not laterally.

Post 43

Star Trek Online

Free 240 cryptic points.

Post 44

Post 45

Post 49

You guys not playing anymore?

Post 50

we are, in between snorting Battlefield: Bad Company 2 off of glass tables - which is to say, not much. =)

Post 51

I haven't actually touched Star Trek online since beta - because since then, I too have spent 90 hours playing the BC2 beta, and Bad Company 2 retail.

That trend doesn't look to change anytime soon.

Post 52

Was going to play a bit this week at work by the telstra nextg wireless modem I use while out and about like to randomly hang windows 7.
But pretty much haven't touched it since BFBC2.
