being bored and all and going on a certin member of this bbs, i was wondering on peoples opinions on their experience and preference with Aodobe and corel. i myself have used products from both for drawing and photoediting but not enough to say that one is better than another.

For Desktop Design
Adobe suites PS 5.5,Illustrator 8 and PageMaker Integrate far better than Corel Products Allowing you to compile vector and Raster Images to produce an end Product.
With the addition of Adobe Acrobat you can deliver professional graphics for printing or Web Delivery.
Adobe Products support a larger range of file formats.
But other users specifically graphic designers prefer Quark Express for Desktop Publishing.
Just my opinion anyway.

The only program I use is Adobe Photoshop 6.0, way back in my early days of web design I used to use Corel PhotoPaint, but then moved onto photoshop 5.5 which was *much* better.

Both are very powerfull packages and can pretty much do the same things. The difference is Adobe products have the best application interface ever designed, and Corel products have some the worst I've ever seen.
You will work and learn faster in Adobe apps.......and there are less bugs in Adobe apps as well.
Trust me..... I use this stuff 8-9 hours a day to make a living, Adobe is industry standard in graphic design for good reason (Adobe programs do cost twice as much though)
