The reason would be that we are nerds/geeks and anything from a web based comic book screams of nerd/geek.
Plus its very very funny and full of references to geek culture.
where as expendables is action with some violence thrown in, the kind of stuff you can take your girlfriend too and come away looking more manly. (only cause you watched it)
