What drivers are you running?? The WinXP WDM drivers or the latest ones from Soundblaster.com?

Here's another problem I've noticed you'll need to do. Get your volume window open (where you change various volumes).
Go into the file menu, and click on options.
Set the button to recording.
Select all tick boxes, and click okay. You'll notice the volume settings change the way they look.
There'll be a tick box under "What you hear" and make sure that's ticked. ^_^
Go back into properties and click back to the playback button. Click okay. Mute your mic, so you don't hear it in the windows environment, and then just continue using CS as you normally would. Fortunately, you mic will not be muted to other people, so they'll get the signal... Be sure to set up your volume settings.

Hi guys,
Anyone managed to get Voice comms to sound better than a modem connection squeal with an SBlive value under WinXP.
Ive tried the voice_dsound "1" setting and still sounds like shit. I vauguely remember seeing some other settings on another site a month or two ago but haven't been able to find them again.
I like XP but it has been banished from my system for the moment for this fault alone. Can anyone help me fix it??

As in live voice communication via microphone in CS?
In your command line type:
+voice_dsound 1
It DOES fix it, despite what you think.
