Does anyone have an idea on how to avoid chokes in CS?
here is my net client variables when playing on octa4 1
I get chokes from 1 to 90 during firefights and my FPS will drop from a steady 75 to 24+ if theres a riot going on.
If it keeps going... I'm camping big time.

Well, your first line is just stupid.
If you or anyone else cared to actually READ the MOTD, you would realise that the server has a maxrate of 6500. If you set your rate higher, you would probably have problems.

i have tried: rate 7000 rate 6500 rate 6000 rate 5500 rate 5000 rate 4500 rate 4000
rate 8000 gives me the least choke, and I get the least choke when I'm not moving at all, in other words... camping [Blocked image]

Try a rate of 2800. It works good for me.

2800 is the rate for 56K....
the cvars cl_lc 1 cl_lw 1
has nothing to do with choking... it does slow down your mouse though [Blocked image]
