Me and Neo are currently making a website and we've updated some of the pics on the site. But when I try and look at them, I always seem to keep downloading the old ones or summat. I have deleted the whole temp internet folder, manually and in IE, I've also tried deleting the files while in another site, and also tried when trying to restart but for some reason my comp keeps finding the old pics?! Is this some Windows XP problem? Or does anyone know how I could fix it?

Post 2

they may be cached in the proxy, who knows, maybe you uploaded them wrong. hitting refresh on your browser ought to fetch fresh copies regardless of what the proxy has.

Post 3

well neo and everyone else can see the new pics >.<

Post 4

When I hit refresh I see the new images fine, its somethign on ruins side which isn't ticking right.

Post 5

in that case i'd disable the proxy settings on his machine, and delete the temporary internet files using the internet options in the tools menu, rather then by hand. if that doesn't force a fresh load of the page, then er, shit be broke

Post 6

Well my dad sees the old pics and we're on the same connection, but we don't have a proxy >_< Ya think the ISP would be caching the pics to save download space?

Post 7

thats why they use proxies, not possible without. hm

Post 8

Hey Ruin,

Your on the same connect as ur old man, but not the same machine? Or the same machine but different user?

No matter really, delete as Paladin said all the temp files and clear the history! Under your usename!

See if it works!

Post 9

yeah it should work, I had the same prob and could never figure =out why it did it. But after deleting the Temp internet files, it worked fine.

We use diff machines (got the adsl networked) and as I've said I've already tried deleting the temp net file like 10 times, all in diff way, ie shutting down, manually, through IE, manually with site on, etc.

d/l opera or some other browser and load the page, see if the problem lies with internet explorer or not. i'd still put money on it being cahced either in the proxy or on your hard drive, there's no other real explaination.

Post 12

Where do you download opera from?

Post 13

um, http://tucows.senet.com.au ? (can't be bothered linking it) there's a whole mess of software to be had there, just check the internet tools/browser section

Post 14

w337! Well opera seems to get the right pics ^_^ But the site is stretched... did you do summat to the site Neo?

EDIT: Oh that's right, now IE sees it >_< Opera must have overwritten the old files or summat? But it's not stretched in IE but is in Opera?

right click on the image and select the option to view it seperately. I can't remember what it is called because I don't use IE.
Anyway.. when you can only see the image in your IE window, try reloading it.
Reloading the page will probably only refresh the page itself, not necessarily the objects it contains.
Beware of transparent proxies.. even though you don't have one configured locally, your ISP could be forcing you through one because they are nasty and mean.
