As you all know DGA 6 is just round the corner *looks behind, not again*
All DGA <A HREF="http://dga.octa4.net.au/content.php?menu=13&page_id=5" TARGET=_blank>
Admins </A>will be meeting this weekend to discuss how things should be run @ DGA 6 (at Clackers place *Hic*...)
Things like, setting up, CS comps , Quake 3 comp *Shannow is not to play*, Play Station 2 Demo (Vorly) etc...If you have any ideas and suggestions, please comment.
I have decided to hold it at the Carlton Hotel (3rd Floor), they are really nice to us and the venue is great, but a small problem, Monday is a public holiday and they want to charge me a 25% surcharge for Monday (they are getting back to me on this), so would you still like to extend it to Monday night or finish off Late Sunday night?
The Play station 2 Demo, Vorly and I are in talks about it, he wants to show it off (and why wouldn’t you), so I am tracking down some Data projectors ( one place wanted $300 per day X 2 units )to display, and I plan to use them for the Quake 3 final comp , what do you think? If you know anyone with a projector contact me.
All the usual times for the LAN, it will start 11:00am Saturday (4th Aug) Price = $20 + $5 for pizza, morning till (TBA) free for all gaming till Saturday night then the Quake 3 Comp and Vorlys 15 minutes of fame …and the CS Comp on Sunday arvo, These time might change as I said earlier the Admins will decided this Friday, how and when the LAN should go.
One more thing I would like to comment on is a post Vorly made here…
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR> Once other thing, a good friend of mine whom I won't name has actually been turned away from the LAN Scene. Why? Well its simple the environment in which we host LANs isn't exactly friendly. There are many people whom you don't know and well that can be off putting. I myself have come to know most people at both LANded and DGA
and it is far more easier for me enjoy a LAN because I know who is who and who I can trust. However I have a remedy, which DGA and LANded will probably go SIF to but who cares. I myself will be holding LANS but only for a select few people with a max amount of people reaching 8. Dunno what I’m gonna call it though but just like all MY previous Lans there will be no entry fee. [ TOB ] guys can come <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I agree with him, (about the two groups of LANners…) if we had all the gamers under one roof, that would Rock
DGA welcomes all gamers…the LANs are for you … that mean all of you Nerds …
See you at the DGA LAN
