It's also available for download on mobile phones but I'm interested in the real deal for $6.50?
I couldn't get to the US support web page for a SC2 theme though.

Got the mobile phone one first for the nokia N95 and then for the iphone.
Just a note make sure you record your serial number as if you have any problems with your authenticator having the serial number makes it a lot easier to get it removed from your account(there is one on the phone version too).
lenko has the real one
Lenko where are you.
It won't let me download it on my phone... I got Samsung B2700 and L-760s
I'm buying another pair of B2700s soon. I can throw them at stupid Sydney 4WDrivers and hurt them without hurting the phone.
Yo!
Yeah I has one - what do you need to know good buddy?
I can't download the mobile phone version and have sent a tech support message to blizzard. I might have to buy a couple of Authenticators instead. How much did it cost for a pair to ship to Au and how long did it take? It gets associated with the CD keys to your WoW and SC2 account right? But what if the other authenticator is going to a friend?
The authenticators are associated with your Battlenet account - therefore any games that are associated with the battlenet account will require them. The keys can be associated once to any account - by punching in the serial number on the back of them, when going through the process in your Battlenet account management.
Price wise; they cost about "0 (from memory) to ship to AU. Took about a week and a half.
One thing to keep in mind however; if you lose the authenticator you're in a world of support related hurt, trying to get the authenticator removed.
That hasn't happened to me yet, but what has happened before (and most recently) is going to a LAN and leaving the fucking thing at home :p

If you record the serial number you save youself a lot of time removing the authenticator.
i got my self 4 im using 2 and 2 spare
If you have the Android one, Titanium Backup from the market can back it up and restore it to a new phone without having to remove it from your account and re-add it. Saves a lot of hassle with my HD2 where I'm swapping roms so often as things get improved.
is remembering passwords that much of a bother? I don't get it...
It's nothing to do with remembering your password.
It's an extra level of account security to (hopefully) prevent it being hacked.
You still need the password. As Milenko said, this is another layer of security, much like the ones banks give out for online banking.
Battlenet is heavily targeted by password stealing virus torjans and the like due to being linked to wow accounts.
i just have the moblie authenticator works fine for me :D
OK Convinced... getting a pair.
and getting another SC2 cd key... not entirely happy with the game, but hell I'm a phan...
Damn Blizzard doesn't deliver to PO boxes...
Blizzard also doesn't have SC2 skins... might have to wait... I don't play WoW...
Hey Guys, sorry to dig up an old thread but i wanted to run this past you guys and get your opinions etc...
Recently got my wow account compromised which i hadn't touched in months. Blizzard guys fixed it up fairly quick, i changed password and added the mobile authenticator (iphone) to my account. it was all fine for a while until today when i opened gmail i noticed some pricks had been inside my email account. Instantly i went fuck realizing I'd forgotten to change my gmail password (yes my fault....stupid).
Anyway they managed to reset my Battle.net password and remove the mobile authenticator... should that have even been possible ?! i mean once they've changed my password surely they should still have to login and supply the auth code?.
I shot an email off to hacks@blizzard explaining it but wasn't sure if i'm missing something here or am on the mark in that they shouldn't be able to bypass that auth code.
I know you need the actual authenticator serial number if you have a physical one. No idea on the software ones though.

maybe to login into the game you would need the authenticator. but im not sure. I dont have one of these
You need the serial number from the mobile authenicator to remove it. However there have been report of bliz employee not doing the proper checking and removing them via a support request such removal is easier if they have access to your email account linked to the account.
Do what I need have your battlenet account associated with an account you don't actualy use for anything else.
Intersting. I might go create a separate email for bnet just to be safe. Certainly don't want to have to do what i did last night ever again - going through every account that used that pass and email combo.
Thanks.
