Just got an e-mail from Internode saying that my 240GB SOHO ADSL2+ account has been dropped from "59.95 to "09.95. It's $99.95 if I switch my land-line from Telstra to Internode, which I'm going to do as it's the same price.
Has anyone else gotten e-mails? I assume these reductions are across all plans.
Just Agile and Optus ports.
Telstra ports get nothing, matter of fact my plan was increased by 10 dollars (for new users only)
Gonna be going over to bigpond sooner then later.

Nope, mine is "0 dearer for new signups, but no change for those already on it.
Home-Fast-50 changed to "09.95 up from $99.95, with my plan renamed to Home-Fast-50G and closed to new signups.
No Agile DSLAM for me unfortunately, so I'm on Telstra wholesale hardware.

i give internode another month to get out better plans or im moving and i hate the idea of giving telstra money but the price is pretty good.
I'm sorry (or not) to say that my plan has stayed at $99.95 but doubled my download quota to 240GB.

Sucks for me to have no Agile DSLAM available and therefore suffer around 20% of the quota for the same price, but I understand why.

i rang internode today as for the same dollars telstra give ADSL2+ for my account where as internode say they do but i am only getting ADSL standard.
its due to internode no longer can offer the faster speed through the telstra hardware .. which is fing gay.

What I will say, however, is that our response will be substantial, and that the changes concerned will be significant ones.

So my 240GB Node plan just dropped from "50 to "00, now I'll likely be bumped from 240GB to 500GB. Lovin' it.
Time to build that 50TB server. :P

I don't thinkso hey. It is cause their Easy plans are only on their optus / agile dslam's anyway. However J we will just wait till nextgen networks finishes their fibre rollout to Darwin and they will probally install DSLAM's here in Cas/Nightcliff exchanges.
As they have started installing DSLAM in Alice Springs.

If you do less than 10 gig of uploads(which is likely because you get usenet with node so no need to BT) the easy plan is good value.

You can they are called the Extreme plans... if 240GB is not enough for you be prepared to pay for more if Internode decide to bring out higher quota extreme plans.
The easy plans were added to the lineup so people could compare apples with apples. iinet only offers their 1TB plan with uploads counted. So internodes plan is based on that same business model.
As the plans stand now you can pay $99 for 240G with 'free' uploading or pay the same $99 for 300G with uploads counted. If you upload less than 60G a month your a winner. The price for the 600G plan is only $20 more... how is that not value ???
With these plans uploads should not be a worry for 95% of consumers, just pick the plan that you need and never have to watch your quota meter again.

TW port plans will also be changed, node are just waiting to hear back from TW on what the new cost to them will be before they can revise them.
They still wont be as good as agile ports though obviously.
even if they do revise the TW pricing eventually
the prices will still be more expensive if you factor in the up to $30 discount for having other telstra services

i've had to call a few times - when i was living in Durack AKA The Suburb of Submerged Netz - and 'Node always handled the shit with getting Telstra to go and pump out the cable pits awesomely. Had one initial walk through of checking all the tech stuff, but every subsequent call i was able to say "it's the same thing as last time" and they'd just say "nps, will call Telstra now, should be sorted soon".
Hmmm, just throwing my 2 cents worth in but I've been with Exetel for about 2 years and have stuck with them because their contract lengths are usually only 6months in length.
I have recently changed to their ADSL2+ (via Telstra cos I live on the Casuarina Exchange) but they also have Optus/ AAPT also (though not .
via Telstra: I currently pay $65 for 50Gb Peak and 120 Off peak and Upload is NOT included; $75 will get you 100GB/ 120GB offline
via Optus/ AAPT: $70 will get you 90Gb/ 180GB Off peak & upload is NOT included

Well had to get a PTR record added to our static IP at work.
Node connection 3 minute phone call and a quick email with the details, job done within 1/2 hour.
Telstra connection 4 phone calls were I spent most of my time on hold before I found someone who knew what a PTR pointer was to find out they don't even offer it as an optional extra on their plans unless you get the extremely expensive telstra internet direct.

I have had mine connected since the 14 of this month and have downloaded 687830.41 MB the only reason i have stopped is i need another hdd lol.
"Unlimited" is just another word for "1TB". It's an almost impossible quota. Don't get sucked in by the marketing, and choose an ISP that offers a higher quality of service.
Those are just shocking prices..... TW are such wankers.
Um if I download 80g a day this would be a slow day that's 2.4tb of data a month
so once i get a few hdds installed i'll post some numbers up and we'll see how wrong rec is.

While I agree with the sentiment in comparison to what they can charge on their own hardware, I can't believe the number of complaints that are going around - I for one get a "0 discount and many get around $20. Also on whirlpool people are bitching there is no more 100 gig plan, when a 50 gig plan and a 50 gig datablock is cheaper than what they pay now, and offers the flexibility to buy a smaller data block (and save more cash) if you don't use all 100 gig!
