Just had a 5 lap run at Bahrain. Looking at the World Record, I'm still 7 seconds shy. I can see where I can make up 3-4 with some near perfect laps, but I just can't keep up with the world record ghost through parts and I'm dazzled as to how he's keeping it on the track.

Singapore is insanely challenging. Need to use a setup with less over-steer to get through all of the twists.

Post 3

Good idea. I like the track in so far as when you get it right its an awesome feeling.

Post 4

I find the second from the right setup is the perfect balance between stability and speed for Singapore. The far right one is just too niggly. Haven't played around with fully custom setups yet.

Just did a top-50 time on Melbourne with the far-right setup.

Post 5

Getting better at Singapore.... really enjoying the track. Did a PB followed it up next lap only 0.2 slower.

Do you think it matters what car you choose for Time Trials? I've noticed in the Multiplayer mode you can choose to have cars as 2010 specs. Why on earth would anyone want to race anything but a Red Bull, McLaren or Ferrari then?? I wonder if the Time trial cars are 2010 spec. I mainly drive Lotus's (I like the livery) but I'll have to give Singapore a bash with the Red Bull to see if there is a difference.

Post 6

Pretty sure the cars in Time Trial are equal, but I'm not 100% sure. Let us know if you find out one way or the other.

Nice improvement on Singapore. I've set decent laps on many tracks now. Working my way through the list.

My favorite track to drive on so far is Melbourne.

Post 7

I'm assuming we're using the same "rules" for the times as for the competition? ie. Traction control disabled, etc?

Post 8

I have been, yeah. No point racing different settings, or I'll be screwed come Monday Night Racing.

Post 9

Same here.

My time for Korea was in the top 50 (38) which surprised me greatly as I only did a half dozen or so laps. How does this ranking work exactly? There must be thousands of people setting times I cant be 38th quickest!

Post 10

Korea is the least played track, by miles and miles. Everyone is running with what they're familiar with at the moment.

PS. just blitzed your Spa time. :D

Post 11

1.51.9 Bahrain for me :)

Post 12

It's orn! Will see if I can beat that today.

What's the exact time? Will add it to the list.

Post 13

1.49.573

Post 14

Shit. Nice improvement.

Post 15

I grabbed Stoegi's ghost, made ahuge difference! Takes alot better lines than I do :) My time was good enough for 8th on the Leaderboard though, happy with that!

Post 16

Do you have to be friends to grab a ghost our can you download them.

Post 17

Nah you can just grab them from the global leaderboard :)

Post 18

They are all there and available.....including your own Reslo =)

Post 24

Corco now in the mix too, with a good Melbourne lap.

Post 25

Got the first half of Melbourne nailed... just need to get the 2nd half spot on.

Post 26

God dammit I need a pc, a race on melbourne with you guys would be epic fun!

Post 27

Then get one!! I spent a lot of time on Melbourne yesterday. I can beat rec's ghost up to the chicane on the back straight, from there is where I obviously need to prac more.

I swore I got a 1.25.something before dinner last night and then when I came back I noticed that my ghost data did not save yet I can load anyone else's. So I changed my time back to the 1.26.149... hope this ghost saved (didn't check last night).

Anyone else finding your times/ghosts not saving?

Post 28

No issues so far. You sure it wasn't an invalid lap? I've had a few of those without noticing, only to have my nice time disregarded.

Post 29

Nope it wasn't as I got to drive around lap after lap with it noted on the RHS as the best time. It wouldn't register if it was invalid.

Post 30

Just knocked 1 second off my Melbourne time and 2 seconds off of my Bahrain time.

Post 31

Okies. I've been racing this whole time with an auto car. I will spend the coming days using manual. I know can easily knock some serious time off my laps... so watch out kents!

:P

Post 32

And stop using the Torro Rosso. :P

Post 33

I realise now that I AM using the red bull car. I selected the Torro Rosso in career mode, which I've never played.

Post 34

Cut over a second off Melbourne time. Still reckon I can get under 1:25 if I can just pull out a clean run.

Post 35

Manual will make you so much quicker.

Post 36

Will post up my new Melbourne setup tonight Nick. It took me from 1:25 to 1:23!

Post 37

Finally pipped Formula1's Melbourne time. Using the Bahrain setup I posted.

Post 38

Tried Rec's set up today ... and started to learn Melbourne,
Now i can find my way around Bahrain and Melbourne.

No world beating times here.

Post 39

Still gonna make me look bad eh.... post some times up you big gurl. It's a good incentive to better them.

Cool seeing the variation in who comes out on top in various tracks. Should make for a close racing season when you officially begin.

Going to post races? I take it you can record replays. Anyone willing to FRAPS the replays and do a commentary on the races?

Post 43

The bad thing about TT is that when you actually enter a race with tyre and fuel sim on, you have to change your braking points and throttle control completely.

Post 44

Times updated. Ahmad is a freak. :D

Post 45

I'm not playing anymore. *crosses arms and turns up bottom lip*

:P

Post 46

You should see Schmeval's times :D

Post 47

Haven't even seen Schmeval playing at all yet - he always seems to be playing MW2 or CS or something. :P

Dude if its twisty then you need more oversteer so that car is more responsive in the front end,, or else its gonna be tough turning your car,

Post 61

Have you figured out how to post your laps to the front page yet?
