Quickflix already has a DVD-by-post service, but on the 10th of November Quickflix will launch its digital distribution platform on PC and Mac. It's already available if you have a "smart" Sony Bravia TV.
For "5 per month you get unlimited access - as many movies as you can handle. Or as many movies as your internet plan's data allowance can handle.

They (edit Node) wont likely do this(edit unmeter quickflix) as it competes with their Fetch TV service and its VOD capabilities unless there is some dosh in it for them :D.

Ahh nvm, chips clarified you were talking about 'node. But then, in theory, iView also competes with FetchTV.
iview doesn't compete with FetchTV cause FetchTV is shit and ivew is not.
Just looking at FetchTV - anything that requires a propriety set-top box for on-demand video is a piece of shit.
Even ignoring the box the channels available are shit.
But for how much the service costs for the STB which has 2 (if not 3 I cant recall) FTA tuners in it that can record to its 1TB drive is good for what it is.
Looked closer into Quickflix it appears that the DVD's / TV shows get physically delivered to you - too much hastle. Would much rather a service online of which I can dl what I want.

I did subscribe to quickflix for a while on their post a DVD service wasn't too only issue was turnaround time to Darwin. I used it mostly because I CBF figuring out what movie I wanted to watched to watch and just let them autofill my queue for me, saw some good movies I most likely wouldn't have watched otherwise.

AustralianIT reports that the PC service has been delayed by “three or four days” while Quickflix uploads more titles (the version running on Sony Bravia TVs has already gone live). The eventual aim is to have between 500 and 700 titles on offer.
That similar to my fileserver, perhaps I'll start my own service :P
It's live, but it's poop - seems they aren't interested in new releases yet. Featured films are currently Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone, The Iron Giant and The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Looks like in 2012 they're going to offer a pay-per-view streaming service. This means you'll simply pay a fee to watch a new release movie. FetchTV/BigPond charge $6 for this, so it'll probably be in the same ballpark.
Quickflix Adds HBO To WatchNow Streaming
The appeal of a streaming service such as Quickflix WatchNow depends heavily on offering lots of choices. So the news that it will “soon” offer content from premium US cable channel HBO is a welcome development that might see more people take up the service.
Quickflix’s announcement mentions HBO titles Entourage, Sex And The City and The Sopranos. It doesn’t include more recent HBO hits such as Game Of Thrones, which suggests there’ll be a lag on content appearing. That’s already the case with movie releases, though Quickflix has said that pay-per-view options will appear later this year.
