camping thing

hey i just wanna find somethin out here but i remember a while ago on sever 2 or somethin that they had a thing which told you who was camping or somethin like that. my idea is that if the campers name comes up on the screen 4 times (saying hes camping ofcouse) he should be booted for like 10 minutes or somethin like that ????

I think it slaps them if they stay in the same spot for a while. I'm not sure about kicking them.

admin_vote_campercheck or something close to that was the command which players could use to start a vote. if the players camped then they would be admin_slapped auto by the server. this was at times a bitch cos when u first spawned and was buying ur gear ud get slapped. and everytime u got slapped u lost 5 health.

then there are points in the game when u NEED to camp. when ur protecting hostages, trying to stay quite from enemies, guarding the bomb etc....u can try to the campercheck idea, but i think the 4 camps and ur kicked is something that wont work.

Camper checking can be a good idea (like a whole team camping), but there are times that you need to do it.

Case in point... I am very anti camper, but last night i pitched myself a tent. 24hp, 4 on to 1. Camping is the ONLY viable choice there. If I had been slapped to death I wouldn't have been happy! It didn't work, but I did get 2/4 without a scratch.

I'd prefer to leave it up to the good sense (and I DO mean that) of the gamers to determine where it is necessary, and where it is just lame.

Well you wouldn't have had to worry as much as you thought, slapping cannot kill you. It takes off 5 hp per slap, and *CAN* take you down as low as 1 hp. Although it's not death, it may as well be. [Blocked image]

Unfortunately the plugin that i know of, checks randomly so you can't move when you know it's checking. This poses problems even when rushing, if you get blocked by someone, it occasionally says your camping and slaps you. Not good at all.

All I can say is that I really HATE camper check. Sometimes u do want it on, but generally i hate it. Even if u are moving around a little to try to stop it from slapping u, u still get slapped. And in the original one (don't know if they fixed it), u couldn't even stand still for 2 long to shoot someone without being slapped.

Would be good it it simply displayed a message...Like a prompt for the player to move....would be good if you could customize how long a pause was considered camping (30 secs would be good).

I think that would be sufficent....slapping is not the solution.....if the player continually camps start a kick vote on him...Simple

When i First heard of CamperCheck I thought, WooHoo this is good..... then I saw it in action and my opinion changed instantly. In short I think its rubbish. You could be moving around in a general area and it would think your camping... If you take to long at spawn it'll slap you... If you take a piss it'll slap you... Yeah you've got the idea. Basically as people have stated above, sometimes its necessary to pitch a tent (for what ever reasons) and sometimes its not. You cannot expect everyone to be constantly running around (Even if you we're walking a bit in circles it'll slap you). Leave it to the admins to deal with those which camp [Blocked image]

So if U are the last man alive and facing a nme or 2..

U quietly walk around the map, U suddenly hear the nme.

U freeze as U try to find out exactly where they are in relation to U..

" thump, thump, thump "

They jump around the corner and nail U.
