yeah i would also like to know of these prices cause my mom is being stupid and she thinks i am on the computer too much so she is saying she dont want me to have internet on my new comp (via network)
i told her i am going to do it when she aint around and told her i aint holding me self back.
but if there is cheap wireless stuff out there i might use that
might save a wall or 2 :P

Probably the cheapest prices you can find on wireless gear is at

Pitty you just missed out on a few good bulk buy orders.
Do some reading in to what you need, so you dont buy stuff you dont need.

**thanks for the sites reading through them now.
This is basically what I am going to be looking at setting up.
got my computer room with adsl connection in. (my com and housemates com in there)
lounge room with com that sits there permanently hooked to the tv for divx etc etc (networked by radio so can get files off of other coms and prolly so can access the net aswell?? )
other housemates bedroom radio network so has internet etc.
our adsl modem is a dlink 504 with the 4 switching ports, firewall, dhcp etc.
If anyone knows a cheaper way to do this networking (that is still effective) I would be open to ideas. Trying to physically avoid cable as rented house so cant put ports in the walls and would have to run it all over the floors in the house (did that last house and tripped when drunk too often :P )
