We might want to have a go at holding a desktop competition. In order to prevent this thread from being filled with large images, email me a HTML page w/ images of your desktop. This will also enable you to include multiple pictures to show off anything that you need more than one image to show off (please crop all additional images where possible though).

Entries will close Wednesday July 24th

I've got some webspace where I can host the pages, if you wish to use your own hosting just send me the URL.

True, I'd prefer use of HTML pages though, as that still clutters the page with useless images (at least after many entries are submitted.

Also, I recommend you use .PNGs instead of .JPEGs, its a lossless compression format and has been part of the W3C standards for a while now. Makes for a much clearer image.

I've uploaded a template HTML file that can be used to create the page. It's GZipped, I beleive WinZip can open that format.

btw....how did you do that....this didn't work for me

<a href="http://www.users.on.net/adamhobbs/aston_desktop.jpg"><img width="50%" src="http://www.users.on.net/adamhobbs/aston_desktop.jpg"></a>

works on another PHP board..

HTML is disabled on this board, look at options, Martok simply posted a resized image (right click on it, the image is desktop_small.jpg whereas it links to desktop_large.jpg.

And I posted my email for it to be used.

Yes, thats what I meant when I said they were part of the W3C standards (W3C = World Wide Web Consortium).

All standards compliant browsers can view them and IE can too.

Cool, thanks. It would be helpful if you took down the picture in the forums, as the purpose of the HTML pages is to keep the forum uncluttered.

Just thought it would be a good idea to decide this in advance, so that all can respond.
