Knight,

You've got a SOE on the system most likely.

A standard operating environment.

It will be locked down pretty tight I would guess.
If it's NT or 2000 give up, unless you have admin pword you aint got a chance.
If it's 98 or XP there are things you can do if you know what your doing.

I'd just give up bud...ain't your PC anywayz is it?:)

Post 9

I'd just buckle down and do your work instead. The computers are set like that so all the little kiddies can't screw anything up.

Post 10

U can brute force an admin password out of some computers, it just make take a few hrs- days- weeks- months - years pending on how long they made it.
I recomend dloading a program to chech for back holes and possible access entry points. Some companies make these programs look for them in google

Don't be stupid Matt.

Do that to a school pc and any half decent admin will fry your ass so tight you'll be like Mitnick playing tetris on his watch for the next few years.

I shit you not charges have been laid for less and some of the people on this board know exactly what i'm talking about because they were involved.

We do a lot with St John from here and they suspend kids for fucking around with their pc's.

It cost them soo much everytime some little smartass fucks around with the PC, you are only damaging your own school.

Don't be lamers, it's not your PC , leave it alone...

brute forcing an NT/2k is a complete waste of time. so is trying to hack school computers, it'll only be to your detriment in the long run (<---- words of experience). changing your desktop wallpaper won't increase your damn productivity, so you don't have to do it. folders as web pages? ugh.

Post 13

Unseen i am at sanderson high where are u at?

o and the OS is win 98

Post 14

98? haha. all you need is one utility to undo all the system administrative locks.

Knight, trust me. Listen to paladin when he says:

Also, I know some of that Latis system, and it's _really_ not worth your time to hack it for folder preferences. Chances are, it'll just reset back to the defaults every time you log out. We just can't trust these school-kids, ya' know?

Ahh, the good old days, hey Paladin? *cough*Hacker*cough*
