this game, which i have just discovered is a very cool game indeed. it is free however, only that if you wish to become a major player, eg - have fleets over 500000 then you need to pay like 20 bucks per round (they last between 3-4 months)

it is quite an adictive game. basically it is played even when you aren't online. the game is measured in ticks, which in real time is 1 hour. so every tick, you recieve certain ammounts of metal, crystal and eonium (resources)
there are many ways to be succesful, but all require teamwork within ur galaxy. having a farkin huge fleet which goes and bombs the shit out of everyone is 1 way, but you have ot be careful, because if you send ur fleet somewhere because you know that player is offline and won't respond, you may find that they are outnumbered at the end of their journey when your target planet's allies has rallied over half a million ships in defence of their allies planet. or that some sneaky bugga in ur own galaxy decides that they no longer feel the need for you to have so many resources, so they steal them (happened to me)
i won't bother typing about it on and on, but that is the general picture, it is very addictive and like requires huge ammounts of teamwork and strategy to become a major power within the universe.
