Out of curiosity why do you want to unlock it???
It does not increae performance or anything, just another thing that you could POSSIBLY wreck your CPU in the process, your call but I'm curious at to why!

Unlocking the Athlons gives you greater flexibility when overclocking - it's purely an overclocking thing, allowing you to adjust not only the FSB, but the multiplier as well; you're right, no performance boost or anything.

Well, we never got around to unlocking that CPU. If you still want to unlock it, just let me know, and we can arrange a night to get together and do it.
It's not all that hard, just time-consuming (waiting for the stuff to dry properly before doing the next step).
