My impression was that it emits a soundwave which is painful to the ear, but does not permanently damage it. This gun would be better then the good old fashioned gun, because it..... won't blow off any of their limbs, or kill them? Well I dunno, that's just the first thought which entered my mind.

Yeah, there's also subsonic area-suppression weapons under research which emit high-powered ELF sounds. These sounds resonate in your chest cavity and skull, causing symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and loss of bladder and bowel control.
Obviously, this will heartily discourage anyone you don't want in an area from going in there - and all without actually having to shoot at them.
Pretty good when you don't want to kill people, eh?
Darkwolf.
I heard about 7Hz is the right resonating frequency for your stomache ^_~ Now I just gotta find speakers that'll go that low....
The gun that shoots radiation is already operational.
Its more rather connected to a jeep with an extra power supply.
It penitrates around 4mm into your skin. Once the body feels this penitration it sends signals to your brain, and your brain goes, "Hey wtf move back". So you jerk back from the pain.
This could be used in the battle field to make enemies jerk back. Thus lossing there Aim.
Other talks of it have been that. It will be used in crowd control. Making the crowd jerk back, instead of firing tear gas or high pressure water at them is probibly better :D
I rekon its stupid some of it. But atleast there not killing as many people with the new technology.

my headphones can do 7hz 8)
gotta try it...
hmm, ive also heard of a pulsating microwave antenna :)
It sends a small flash of microwave energy towards the target convincing them that their flesh is burning :) when there is not enough power to do so. It doesnt even dammage the eyes :)
Ive even heard of a blocking electro magnetic frequency (dont know what range) that cancels out the nerves for the mussles freezing the target. Its not supposed to affect the heart and brain? - supposivly they can get it powerfull enough that it can stop car ignitions for normal petrol engines
But my personal favorite is the massive ark that rides on two streems of plazma making a heigh voltage low amp circut with very powerfull results.

If anyone ever gets carsick from being in a car with a serious sound system, that would be your answer.
what aboot the so called "brown note"? or is the 7Hz your talkin about cover it?... i was at a concert 10 years ago in perth and the bass player played a note or somthin that shivered my stomach and intestines and left me with a weird feeling but didnt make me loose my bowels...(thank god, i was trying to impress a chick) 10 points to anyone who can guess the band. they are not australian. they are not a metalband. that should be enough clues for now.
Or is it 17Hz... not quite sure. And it'd have to be a powerful enough vibration to resonate your stomache enough. Supposedly heavy machinery makes sound around that area so you can be internally damaged after using em for a long period of time.
Would be very handy. IE Victorian Police could use shoot now, interogate later.
There are lots of interesting weapons out there and many come from Australia. Per capita Australia has one of, if not the highest patent rate in the world. firestorm is an Australian creation.
