$45 for a floppy drive?? You can get them from CWS for $22. I've got one here somewhere you can have for 3 cans of Red Bull (about "0).

$45.00 is retail if you ask you can have one for $29.00 as you are a GU member.

Shit $45 for a floppy drive? Even Newcomputers which everyone i know say are way too expensive have floppy drives for $30 retail. if you want a floppy drive you might as well get an LS120, they can do 1.44 MB disks and the 120 MB disks and theyll probably be made better too

Thats fine if it's used often. It won't be. I just need it to load a driver for my SCSI controller and the odd emergency.
I've been in contact with xaine85, but the FDD won't be available till Monday. I'd like to pick up one by tomorrow.

If i was selling a FDD wouldn't I have done so, you made a post, people responded with replies for you, yet you complain, I'm sure that if someone DID have a FDD to sell to you (like xaine for example) then they would have posted here, if you are too impatient to wait until monday buddy then your gonna have to buy one brand ew otherwise, patience......

Meh go out and get some sunshine and drive around a bit. If really get desperate go down to the rubbish tip place and look for whole machine with a floppy drive in it, get the whole machine for "0.[/list]

oh and i read around the area that reaper said to buy one (a FDD). u said u needed one by the next day or whatever, reaper said to buy one, by saying buy one he means to go buy one from FITS or wherever, he wasnt saying that he had one for sale.
when u start a thread in the GU forums, u should know that it doesnt belong to you, most of the times topics that have nothing to do with the original post will appear, like what im writing now.

Perhaps, but courtesy never goes astray. I believe Ze Reaper could put his point of view across without trivial jibes from you. I have endevoured to conduct myself in this forum with respect to fellow members, however some have shown to be not worthy of it. Hm, i always considered floppy drives to be below the point where it was necessary to shop around for a cheap deal. The effort required to find a cheaper, working one, is often more than its worth. I've got a stack of about 30 floppy drives that may/may not work, you're welcome to test them all and find one thats satisfactory to you, then give me money for it.

Paladin that is true, but paying $45 for a new floppy drive to load one driver hardly makes much sense to me no matter how you slice it. It's not for anything mission critical else I would have gladly paid that amount. If nothing else this thread has been entertaining.

I will throw my support behind ezy, there was no need for the bull and he didnt complain at all and I agree $45 is to much to pay for a floppy drive.
I have mine mounted backwards inside my computer so I would have to remove the side to use it and I havent had to yet. Please try to be a bit civil towards new members and make them feel welcome I would have reacted the same way he did except I am to lazy to bother with quotes.

Id agree with you Hell Spawn. Next question though that come to mind is - Why is you floppy mounted backwards ?
Thinking about it. Do you have one that has a faceplate and you have a system that doenst require it.

I have a Lian Lee case so side comes off in 2 secs and I am not pulling off a face plate for a lousy floppy drive lol :)
