Inaugral Chief Of Defence Force Cadet Leadership Challenge 2002

was held over the weekend just gone at ADFA in Canberra.

there was 6 teams .. 3 senior and 3 junior .. Total of 8 per team, so 1 from every state for the senior and 1 from every state for the junior team.

I was lucky enough to be selected to go for the ARMY senior team and boy did we kick all there arses. We beat the nearest senior team by 30% woot woot. got the cup to go. Whats more we had a great time and it was the first time this has been attempted. We came together on Friday night and the comp started Saturday .. I think that is a great achievment in itself to come together and pretty much have to work together from the word go. I bloody loved it and had a great time. When I get some pics and a movie here I will send you guys a link or will post either way. Just passing on that it bloody rocked and I would do it again..

But man is canberra cold.

On hind site, we got to sleep on the RSM's parade ground at ADFA. boy he wasn't happy .. :) .. Got to meet all the people of the army, Cosgrove, Fairweather, Silverstone etc etc etc.. Mainly all the ones that are helping cadets.

WOOT WE WON. .. .. . . GO ARMY . . . . ... . . .. . . .

he he he he

Damn it, I'm moving to Canberra next year. Fawk.

Well, last time I flew down there, it was 9 degrees when I got off the plane, 5 when I got to the campus and dropped to -2 overnight. About 5:00pm we had a fire drill, so I was left standing out in the cold (it was VERY windy) in just a pair of shorts and a tshirt. I fugging froze.

Post 12

I'd like to note, however, that this is excelent overclocking tempretures. :D

Hey Unseen,

After going through that place I gurantee you Army startt the fitest. Then try go through 3 years of ADFA and a year of RMC. Watch them break due to work related injuries in just 4 years. Wait longer and watch them fall quicker.

Mate go and watch the army yes sir Ill take it in the a** sir because you asked me too sir, yes sir.

F*cking wallies

Post 14

Danny I understand your point. Now listen to mine

The Army is not designed for everybody, yes everybody has there own opionions, but it is not there for everybody. I have found that most people who complain about it would not be able to do it because they dont see the other side to all the yelling and getting told what to do. In short it is a job, just like IT, or woolies or anything like that. Only difference is that this job is different and is designed for one thing.

Post 15

UNseen,

Didn't see your reply to the post. I know a lot about the army. A hell of a lot about the Army. I know it ain't for everyone. Actually its for a very select few. And the can't do it thing and the other side of the shouting- I have my own creditials to that.

yep and now that they actually have to do it.....

Post 17

*thinks* can you still be a cadet over 18?....

i wonder how come my brother didnt go down there, he is a kickass leader apparently, maybe he was too little or something.

good on army, woo!! being an army brat id have to say that from what i know from all 3 defences (granted its not that much) army is the best, most stable, although the likleyhood of injury is pretty damn high....IMO

Post 18

Shit.. Army cadets actually won something? GW :) I did Cadets for about a year and all I ever used to hear from Air Cadets was how crap us 'grunts' were and how much fun stuff those Air Cadets used to get to do.... but hey, at least I wasn't in Navy Cadets

Post 19

I was in air cadets for awhile, the most common thing to hear was how much the army and navy sucked at marching lol

Post 20

Sucked at Marching. Maybe they did, but is it really something to be proud of? I don't run it. Its not important really and once you understand that the drillies leave you alone.

The important thing is how good you are at your job under pressure.

Post 21

heh first time I heard about army cadets was in high school when these funny round dirt circles appeared in the lawn in the quad

in a big straight line, these perfect grassless circles pounded into the lawn

bluddy cadets marching on the spot :P

poor lawn :D

army cadets: the real cause of crop circles
