Im nearing completion of a new map, sorta unnamed as cs_strike.
Its certainly been a while since i shot out a map, so any support would be appreciated.
The map will be availible in zipped format here ( http://dx.auscstrike.com/cs_strike.zip ) when its done and uploaded. Its a small sized map, i think it'll work out to be a 2mb zip. Ill talk to someone about maybe putting her on server2 for tonight so we can give it a go at 8:30 or so.
Ill put up some map layout as well, but here are some screenshots. Latest are on the next page: http://dx.auscstrike.com/custom/ Please reply if your intrested,
I'll be willing to come back for CS to try this out. To think they spent around 3-4 betas playing with night vision only to have it become something that's never used in any of the official maps.
it adds a green part to your view, you can do it without buying a set of NV gogles tho just put a magnet on your screen, with that you should get night vision, infer red and a few others that havent been discovered yet.

Actually it helps a lot with Blue's map, infact I think it's just about compulsory to wear when going out of the house. Else 'stay in the light' (that's blue's line)
You can make do without goggles if you stay in the center parts of the map, on the roads or in the T/CT house. Stray outside there, you may need them. But go into the tunnels and your a dead man without them.
Way a good test, thanks to the people who dropped by to play.

As well as a hefty bill to replace your monitor when you warp the shadow mask.
Last nights one was pretty damn funny when the american guy ran through the Germans rank to talk to the other US platoon then ran back through and the Germans didnt hit him :)
You can bet ya boots that ch 9 will repeat it later seeings as its only 10 eps. Alot of people may not have thought it worth the bother until half way through, and then want to see it again.
Personally, from the screenies I reckon it looks awesome. Great work Blue, I loved milano too.
From what I've seen it's got a real rainbow six sort of look to it.
Plus I love using nightvision. I just wish they made it blue instead of green. blue is much cooler. mmm blue screen phone..... ahh back to the map. yea good work. haven't played it yet but looks like another camp map *sigh*, but then again I haven't played it.
I like it how it's a small map, fast n furious the way I like it
cool idea for a map that hasn't really been explored much. i had a quick run around the map and here's some suggestions and comments:
i noticed the w_poly count hits over 1400 in areas. this causes lag and makes the map run poorly when their are a lot of players. r_speeds should be kept under 800 or a reduction in frame rate occurs. to take a look at r_speeds type "developer 1" then "r_speeds 1" in the console. you can do this for any map including the official ones.
there are tons of tutorials on r_speeds and ways to reduce them on the net.
some of the object scaling seemed odd. particularly the 4wd truck. it was HUGE :). a good trick i use to check scaling is to place a hostage in the map while your building it. compile the map then run around placing the hostage next to things so you can compare the size of the object to a player.
the last aesthetic problem with the map was the open windows on the buildings. they didn't align to the texture of the building wall which had windows on it.
sorry if i seem harsh. i try to be honest but not too brutal. read plenty of tutorials and keep mappin :).
Heheh, no worries monk8y, this map was a throw up for something to get me back into it. Back in my days i did this mammoth project de_milano, i had details and stuff about it....ill have to go fishing to find...
