I'm getting a load of grief - as a NOOB - cos I do not have a microphone. Fair enough, but I can't get the one I have got which is a USB mic to work with counterstrike.
It works fine with sound recorder and I have allocated a key for using it in cs configuration, but still the little sound icon against the player name does not appear for me. :(
Is there anything else I need to do that I am missing here ?

Thanks for the help guys. I have now added the string "-voice_dsound 1" to my setup and tested it on one of the live servers. The loopback feature seems to indicate it now works, but I cannot see a little sound icon next to my name. Is this normal - ie it doesn't show for your own name, or do I need to do something else.
Either way I will give it a spin tonight and everyone can hear my dulcet tones - hehe. I will soon find out I guess if it is working - probably get muted after the first game. :D
When U are ingame and U hit the button to talk, does a little speaker icon show on the lower right hand of your screen ??
If not the keybind isnt working
If so then it is.
If U still have any grief, run the voicetweak in your HL folder.
Remove the 20dB boost, cos it makes U distort to shit.
If that doesnt work, contact me. I will give U a hand..
