Hey i want to make a site that will allow people to submit textures that they have made. They will be able to choose the texture type before submiting eg wood metal etc. and then the texture will automatically go on its required page. I also want a new page to be created each time the texture count on the page reaches 20 or so and a link with page numbers on to be created. Can this be done automatically so once the sites made it will substain itsself. If it can how do i make a site like this. Also if you can't be stuffed telling me how to make a site like this would anyone know any links to tutorials so i can. Yeah i hope i explained this correctly.
Ohh yeah is it possible to make the textures they submit to be scalled down for previewing on the page with the rest of the textures and a link created to the full size texture once its clicked on
Yeah I agree with Aravi here, your asking for quite a bit of work there, I think your best bet is to go and learn some HTML and other web languages and then understand a bit before you want all this.
And in answer to you questions yes they are possible.

Its for a 3d animation/games creation community.
Any help will be appreciated
Go learn something like php or asp or any other web programming languages. Most sites that feature that sort of stuff are done using php or the like.
Also MySQL might be useful too. There is a PHP and MySQL for dummies book out (might be worth a look)
And heres a few links that could be useful too. http://www.beginnersphp.co.uk/ (has links to other php sites, examples of php code, some downloads and tutorials)
HEHE martok dont get him confused within Mysql yet :P
Nah just learn advanced html, CSS etc. A little java here and there can be usefull to.
Then move on to asp or PHP, preferrably php, its much better :P There you'll learn a lot of new things because you'll be working more with dynamic content.
Then once you have grasped a couple of php skills, then move onto MySQL, which uses php (well in your case it would). From this you'll then build database driven web pages. (WHICH IS WHERE IM AT :D ).
From there you will hen have the ability to put together something like there forums we are talking on now (although phpBB2 is very esay to setup).

ok, i'll be even more nit-pickier. mysql does not use php. sql does not use php. php can interface with sql databases, mysql included. therefore, php can use mysql. mysql, last i checked, doesn't use php.
and another point, sql is the easiest language i've ever learnt. so really, just rush in and learn it all at once. do you have _any_ programming experience at all with structured languages? if you do, just download the php help file and learn it from that. if you don't, well, google for php tutorial. as for learning sql, either buy a book, or read some help files on it, its fairly straightforward for most stuff, and is very much a plain english language.
I would say these books would be fairly good to learn from. I learnt html from a book like this from the same publisher which was mostly step by step and easy to follow.

Why be so picky :D You bloody well know what I mean :D
a) its not a programming language, its a query language, but a language none the less b) it no doubt has implementation specific language features, therefore it can be classed as distinct from pure SQL c) apache transparently handles the serving of web pages and execution of modules/handlers for specific page types (php, cgi, etc), you do not interact directly with apache (well you can telnet to it and talk http if you're a real nutball)
I was thinking of mySQL as in the server program, it uses its own variant of SQL though, and you could call that variant "mySQL" after the program that uses it.
