q3 engine games will not work on my pc.

Heeellllppppp!!!!

None of my quake 3 engine games will work on my pc, As soon as i run them the cpu usage goes to 100% and stays there which means i chug time.

Games that are not working q3,mohaa,jk2 everything else is fine.

I have tried everything humanly possible without formatting the hdd again, it is a new install i really do not want to do it again.

I thought it may be a opengl problem, but i can play cs with opengl and i have no problems.

Any ideas before i format the drive. This problem started 3 days ago out of the blue.

Leadtek gforce4mx440 64mb ddr
384mb ram pc133
msi 6340m pro main board
40gig samsung hdd
LG 40x12x40 burner
pioneer 16xdvd
win xp pro.

Im having similar problems is Quake3, RA3 or the whole QUAKE3 Engine.

When I start the programs its seems fine, but when I move around the menus, it just freezes and the sound repeats. It then comes good for a sec and does it again. I cant play Q3 anymore because of this.

First I thought it maybe my Radeon 9700 Pro, but it could be Direct X 9.

So please while you quake freaks are out there, please help Wiseman and myself, play Quake 3 in any mod etc.

I hope it is just something simple. Also I have updated to PR1.32. But that didnt help.

Wise werent you playing Q3RA on the weekend ?
was it running fine then ?
