farewell frontline

Just found the thread, everything has been voiced already, but I too am very sorry to see frontline go.

I understand the main failing was the folding of frontline transport. If the shop was otherwise so popular which I believe it was, then maybe there is room for a "frontline 2" which is as much like the first as possible with no partnerships and therefore reliance on other businesses.

Darren has shown it can be done - I believe it can be done again and Darwin will get a shop with reasonably priced hardware etc and above all staff who are friendly and know what they are talking about.

Thanks again to Dazza and the frontline team best of luck for the future.

(btw, i'm still up for a racing game at evo3)

I'd say Frontline is gone for a fair while. I would love to see another cheap and well founded store open up soon... one can hope!

and i must say i though tere prices were nice and cheap
they were very good when u compare em to the other shops around darwin
so if u are out that way go in there and see them

I rang up bits & bytes for a price on a hdd and the woman on the phone wasnt very helpful - she put me on hold and then sounded rushed, seeming that she just wanted to get rid of me. I guess if the prices are good then its a bonus, but if you live in darwin or the suburbs then you have to take the cost of petrol there and back into account!

"Computers for you" in coconut grove (even though thats the worst name for a computer shop on planet earth) :D didn't seem to bad price wise, and the staff seem pretty good, helpful and stuff.

In the trading post someone suggested auspcmarket.com.au I had a look and they say freight is free but they add some to the hardware itself, so this makes the prices only reasonable.

Although for some gear, they're the only people that stock it in Australia. Plus the free freight is an added bonus. Also customer service and response time is among the best I've dealt with.

Prices aren't the only things to decide whether it's worth buying or not. Also you have to consider the free freight with Auspcmarket is usually by courier to your doorstep by Mayne. Not the usual chuck it at your door and be gone Australian Air Express.

I don't think she's really the computer type person, but going there in person it's definitely quite good. They've moved to a bigger shop too.
