Does Telstra have an upload limit?

Telstra charge their uploads as part of your monthly limit. Therefoe, I would say tat you would be charged for this out of your limit.

I tried to run a server from home (well testing a server) had about 4 or 5 people on it, a few locals and Madcow (brissy)

heh when i get a job i iwll pay my parents the extra money to upgrade from a 512 connection to a 1500. What i want to know is will 8 players on a server constant for a month use up my 3gb's quickly? or won't it use much data?

Yes if it has a few people in it then I would think it would chew the bandwidth within a week or so

Thing is, even if their AUP doesn't forbid it - on the unlimited plan packets are prioritised on the basis of who downloads the heaviest, with the heaviest downloaders/uploaders getting the lowest priority.
Essentially, the server would be given a crappy connection because it uses it so much.
