What in Darwin lol u got to be kiding. More like try Sydney or Melbourne u have to order them broo. I have a friend at work who just got all his mod chip kits for the X-BOX, & it works NP. If you want I can ask him were he bought them from.

Its easy to find people down south that re/sell modchips, but i recieved an xecuter and it was fuct. This is why im looking local. Any help is good help.

Post 4

Was your xecuter sent to you pre-program or was it blank.?

Post 5

The xecuter as far as i know comes flashed already, and the chip is not flashable. The newer xecuter 2 pro and lite are able to be flashed. The only one that doesnt come already programmed is the matrix/xodus but it comes with software and a programmer interface. Doesn't matter, the chip was physicaly fuct so it didnt mater if it was programmed or not.

Good you have the programmer & interface, if the chip is stuff you should be able to get it sent back for warranty replacement or exchange at least.

My friend is currently using the Enigmah it seems to work fine. If you only want to play games it's not a bad chip, draw back is you cant change the HDD thats it. One other thing you have to do alot of soldering like 29 points omg.

He had to order his from over seas, try this site

Yeah i know about the enigmah. The matrix/xodus doesnt need soldering, just screw it in. And it allows you to use hombrew software, which i really wanna do so i can use the xbox to watch divx, run linux, copy games straight to HDD using boxplorer, use evolution x etc etc. I just hoped i could deal with some one local. But i will run the risk of ordering it downsouth again.

Ive been just told that www.au-hackershardware.com is a good place to order modchips. Does COD aswell.

Post 9

how do u install thenm ?

Post 10

Each chip has their own instructions, but most (other than enigmah) conect 9 or more points to the LPC connectors of the board as well as one wire that connects to D0 (of the bios chip, i think). Go to hackers, there is instructions for just about all the sellable chips including ones for PS2

Mind you if you mod your xbox you won't be able to play online using xbox live at all. Too tired to explain more. Google it.

Post 12

so you have to solder it i assume :LS

Don't know how I know this but..., the matrix you simply screw in, no soldering required. Some have been known to be a bit temperamental, but that is partially the problem of the installer. Price apparently is $60-"05 'in the south', or so they say.

Quick recipe of a modded xbox apparently would be something like this:

- replace 8Gb with a 127Gb HDD
- backup your collection of titles to play of the HDD, some say as many as 60 games, (though this people obviously have a lot of money to own this many titles)
- OR
- install a rotary switch for the HDDs and virtually have 3 times this,
- OR
- install emulators :- Game Boy Advanced, N64, Amiga to name a few
a few gig and suddenly they have easily 20 games as the kids use in the car
- OR
- install Windows Media Player 2.1 - Plays DivX, MP3 exceptional jukebox material, play locally of HDD, the DivX with AC3 etc is quite exceptional
- OR
- use the stream server via the ethernet card, apparently this is exceptional
OR
- update your XBOX DVD capability to be region free
OR
- as a linux box, dos or old Windows box, though they say the Windows experiment is, you'd do it once to see it happen but not again.

Apparently seeing this on a project roughly 2 x 1.8 m with Surround sound in a recliner is quite enjoyable even for the most die hard CS fan. Titles that people should have a glimpse at are Splinter Cell, Fifa2003, ISS2 or the much awaited one Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball (this is the best polygons I've seen to date)

But that is what the rumor says
