With the release of new games like NS people that were once regulars in the GU server are prefering to play other games instead of CS :cry: . And since that it is very hard to get new players into registered servers, thru attrition there will be no one left to play in the servers any more. I think that something should be done about this now rather than later, when it will be to late. We need to boost the number of players that play CS and keep those numbers high. I would like to hear poeples thoughts on this matter and if anyone else has any idea's on how this can be achieved.
I fear that GU no1 server is facing attrition!

Server was rocking with 20 players for most of last night. *shrug*
There are some new faces as well.
Perhaps we all need to bind some GU Underground links or something and spam them in other servers.

I joined the CS server last night, first time in months, and it was full.
One thing that made me laugh was people typing /top15 *stat whores* but it was good playing with me old mates again ... pitty Unspec wasnt there :(....

The last few days I've played in GU #1 it has been at near full if not full capacity. Keep in mind though that many people have been very busy towards the end of 2002 and its the holiday season atm. It may not be as bad as it seems, although quite a few regulars have moved to NS (sif CS doesn't own it :P)

This has has been stated in numerous posts of late, and it is get rather boring. We wont go into a debate of why did we move, why is it register only.
Yes several of our die hards have had a break, be it for family, work or another game. But you will notice the server is beginning to fill again. What it takes is for people to take the plunge and jump on when there is nobody there because sure enough the Lemmings theory will take control and others will join.
And yes Coco has a good idea, When surfing or playing other serversPlugyour own bloody server. We are Cheat Free and for most of the time DICKHEAD Free.

Nah Minocri, that lag was very bad for everyone on the day in question. However...seemed to be ok last night.

I dont know what your talking about cos I get no lag on the server since it's moved the latency is about twice as good as it use to be, thanks to OD.

Yep that happens with ADSL Scorhcer :lol:
Bornagainst is probably in Darwin with a not so great dial-up connection (not good for him)

Even with ADSL up in darwin, i does sometimes lag!! Mostley happens when the server is pretty full

By the way.
i have been promoting GU in other servers of late. trying to get some new players onto the scene.
i think Cougs was doin the same thing as me, i have a bind which lets people know where the website is and stuff. I reckon its a good idea and more people should do it.

Is there anyway of binding two messages to one key, ie:

atm i have the above two bound, but each message to a seperate key.
