[Attachment 6830]For those without an Xbox 360 or who are unwilling to wait for the currently unannounced PlayStation 3 port, Splinter Cell: Conviction is now available for purchase on Steam. Apparently the prologue co-op campaign, who's characters are now featured in the GU banner, stretches an entire 8 hours from start to finish. Tasty.

My Steam d/l went off without a hitch but I was getting frequent crashes. Some Googling revealed it was a problem with my 10.3 Catalyst drivers, so ATI owners take note - you may need to install the 10.4 Catalyst drivers (which were only released until 2 or 3 days ago).

mine keeps crashing to desktop with a general protection fault during the intro movies. already have 10.4 installed, so currently downloading 10.5 beta.
apparently they are releasing a 1.01 patch to fix all these problems, however nobody has a clue when.

Bummer. For me, even with 10.4 the intro movies don't play. I can hear the audio for the various Ubisoft/Tom Clancy etc splash videos, but the screen stays black. Nothing appears until the main menu comes up.

Ubisoft rep: "programmer? that looks like code on your monitor thingy there"
Dev: "it is we're just starting on the main game loop now"
Ubisoft rep: "looks fine to me - box it up and ship it"

well, through a mix of installing catalyst 10.5 beta, and verifying my game files, the game has started working.
except i'm only writing this post because the game crashed me out after roughly an hour. sigh.

Aegis: I think if anything you're flattering Ubisoft there. I went for digital download because I half expected the retail box would end up only containing some nutshells and chewed gum.

i gave them the benefit of the doubt given how awesome the original Ghost Recon was ;)

It's pretty taxing on my rig - but Im keen to give co-op a go.
Ubi username is L3nko - add me yo ;)

i am, except the game likes to crash every 15 mins or so, which would probably not result in a happy coop experience.
hopefully the patch today will iron them out somewhat
