[Attachment 7166] While previously uncertain, we were almost sure this would be the case: you can pay for and download StarCraft II via Blizzard's new Battle.net platform. Needless to say, I've now cancelled my retail pre-order for the boxed version, and have commenced the digital distribution download.

If you plan on doing the same, your downloaded copy can be activated and played starting July 28, 3am Australian Eastern Standard Time. You don't even need to cough up your cash quite yet. Head on over to Blizzard's StarCraft II download page, grab the 7 gigabyte client file, and fire it up upon the aforementioned 'unlock' time to 'Activate' your install.

got your time conversion wrong - in Australia you wont be playing that before the 28th if you get it from Blizzard directly.

edit: lol the page you linked even has the conversion for you into local time on the unlock time listing. 2:30 AM on the 28th for aussie central time.

They'll make far more than that over time, as it's going to be a pay-to-play scenario in some regions.
