Battlefield 3 early access starts 10pm tomorrow

[Attachment 8490]If you pre-ordered Battlefield 3 on EA's Origin prior to September 25th, or registered your first-hand copy of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition, or purchased Medal of Honor Limited Edition from Steam prior to July 26th, you'll soon be playing the early access beta!

EA Australia have revealed that the early access beta will kick off at 10pm, Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on the 27th of September - that's tomorrow night! For our international readers, here is when you'll be able to play:

World times for the early access beta:
- NZ 1:00 am 28th

- Aus 10:00 pm 27th

- Sweden 2:00pm 27th

- GMT 12:00 noon 27th

- US Eastern Standard Time 8:00 am 27th

- CST 7:00 am 27th

- PST 5:00 am 27th

- NZ 1:00 am 30th

- Aus 10:00 pm 29th

- Sweden 2:00pm 29th

- GMT 12:00 noon 29th

Early access e-mails for eligible customers are said to be sent out within the next 18 hours or so. Console access shouldn't be far behind PC, but exact times will be controlled by XBL & PSN as they manage the deployment.

For everyone else with a pre-order, that same hour on 29th is the day and moment you should be looking forward to. See you on the battlefield!

Three hours of solid play later, and I'm chuffed. What a great shooter - even without the vehicles.

The weapons all feel great and the movement is pretty damn good overall. It's a marked improvement over Bad Company 2.

I have to agree; although the damage in BF3 is fucking brutal, man.
BC2 you could survive a few hits, but not in this.

I fear that this game will turn into a major camp/snipe fest tbh.

I personally really like the damage - it's pretty much ideal as it stands in my opinion.

The sniper has been well-nerfed. Takes 3 shots from range with the default sniper rifle, and they're dead easy to spot because the lens-reflection lights them up. With a couple bursts of any rifle you're likely to kill them before they fire those 2-3 shots.

yeah i loved it, tho i miss my ghilli suit - still got a whole lot of bush crawling knife-love out of it though. I can't work out the stats though - it says I only took 9 dogtags but I stabbed a crapload more than that - hope that's sorted before release :/

I agree with the damage model, it's really nice and so damned satisfying when you ping someone. Sniping is dead easy in the game but that new spotting mechanic forces them to keep their heads down too.

I dont know if anyone noticed yet, but if you bring a tree down on someone, it DOES kill them :D

and the audio - OMFG the audio. so cool.

Oh man, the first time someone shot a rocket past my face inside the train station I wet myself. DICE audio engineers are the win.

The SV98 will one shot you at medium range which is good, caus otherwise it'd be far too limp. I did notice there's quite a powerful rifle in the recon unlocks too - no doubt that'll be a one-shot at any range.

Loving my Support SAW; and my Assault M416+HB+FG.

I don't know what it is, but going prone with my SAW, popping out the bipod feet and then mowing people down in choke points gives me a woody.

the Engie's AKSU is one of the best starter guns i've used in any game like this - that gun is fricken nice to use.

Yeah that thing is VERY deadly with a fore-grip as well. I was being consistently sniped by that thing across the starting area.

Support is so awesome, but goddamn. Snipers just make the whole support role unfun.

Need to make a spin-off website, EA-Support lols.

i notice in the server browser, you can filter by operation metro and another map called Caspian Border - judging by the screenie for it that map has everything. Filter on it and it returns 8 EA testing servers. Here's hoping its visibility here means we'll get it during the beta.
