DGA Advertising

Dont mind me being a newcomer and all, but was cuirous why DGA doesnt have any noticeable form of advertising.

I only came upon it by chance talking to another about lanning, and they happened to mention DGA, which i found after googling darwin gamers

Any chance some one could make up a dga banner, that computer places could simply hang in their shops, support all round i reckon.

Geez let alone that huge evo event.........wish i knew about that

they tryed to advertise it a bit i know that
i know there was posters/papers up about the event
dga are not all big and rich they gotta keep buying switches that are a few grand each for some and cintunily upgrade servers and stuff so they proberly cannot offord ads on the telly every 3 seconds

but i know they did try cause there was quiet a few peeople there than were new

But now I've got 3d studio max I reckon I might be able to knock up a large version of the EVO logo and make a new DGA logo or something.

well, easy, ruin, if you can up with a banner, I'll be happy to find a way to print it, then pop around to the computer shops asking if they would be interested in displaying,

I mean, surely a computer business wouldnt mind displaying a banner of a club thats based around its industry

sorry guys, i was referring to advertising the dga/underground website, so that people new to town can quickly see something is around in darwin when they go looking in the puter shops for new toys.

/me struts about the overclockers plug :P

word of mouth is the major form of advertising.

I found the best way to advertise is just via lots of the major forums. Like said before they got it advertised on the Overclockers forum. That is a good way to do it plus its free

He gets around like you wouldnt believe. Many more people will see it that way.

DGA have over time utilised many forms of Advertising for events. However the actual Underground website differs slightly.
Originally it was hosted by Octa 4 and had direct feed links from within, that coupled with almost every Computer shop in town advising clients to check the OCTA 4 Boards. This in turn would lead them to The DGA site.
Now that OCTA 4 has been renamed and is now hosted by OzForces we have lost our direct link. Also we have lost one of our main feeder links which was Frontline IT Solutions.
Rest assured we at DGA will go into an Advertising Campaign of sorts in the not too distant future, in the meantime we are just having a relaxing moment or two..

Dga 1 was small dga 2 was bit bigger but over years Dga has just gotten bigger :D.. more files to look at more clans to war ect.. Its exciting experience.

Channel 7 has an advertisment Thing about community events could advertise but not sure if anyone even watchs channel 7 Sif watch free air Tv Get cable ;)
As far as i know it doesn't cost anything to advertise on it :?:

But its hard to Advertise when your running a non profit event no money to pay for event but to upgrade Network ect.

Admins don't even get paid to do what they do best.

and tv adds are not cheap in the NT.

But a lan going from 30 ppl to close to 120 ppl is amazing just by advertising on GU boosted attendents to the lan by heaps

Last Evo lan was awesome Turn out heaps ppl and that gym would of cost a shit load of money :|
