A friend of mine is after a new program to rip DVD's ( he owns them of course) as the one he is using atm can't hold the aspect ration properly for some movies.
He wants one that is easy to use, that preferably just spits out a divx after it is done.
If you dont want to go in depth then this is the program for you, chuck in your DVD, tell it how many cd's you want it to be, and hit start and will leave you with a decent looking divx
the best program at the moment is, in my opinion Gordian Knot, it is a bit harder to learn when u first open it up but once u see the quality u wont be disapointed.
what about vob. to avi/divx i wanna do that anyone got a good program that will do this for me and the picture is good and the sound great and the lenght like 699mb :P
well i am after the best and fairly simplest one that will do it but iwant good pic and good sound not low sound and it to be on 1 cd :P and programs u can point out?
another simple program is DVDtoOGM it is only in its alpha stage but has worked great from me so far. It gives u alot more options than anyother ripping software program ive used before, such as using the xvid codec, ogg vorbis sound and adding as many filters as u like.
well now VOBs are the video object files these have all the MPEG2 streams and all the audio tracks AC3(dolby digital) almost always english 5.1 and some other languages. Also have subtitles in them too.
The IFO file tells you where all the info in the VOBS are.
Gordian Knot is a brilliant program to use. I use it to set up the resolutions. I just use Virtual dub to do the encoding and Nandub to put in MP3 audio.
Yes I know GKnot will do it for you but I like to get a bit more complicated.
