Ok i've got a Netgear DM602 ADSL Modem i've done everything it says to install the modem but when i connect the CAT5 line to my NIC nothing happens but if i turn off the modem then turn it back on i get like 5 secs of the modem connected to the computer but then it goes again and i get nothing.
Any ideas as to whats wrong people?

I have the same adsl modem mine works perfectly. Have you tried the usb connection to test the modem. Also check that the connection is enabled and the nic is installed properly. Check the cat5 cable u are using.
Other than that start again from scratch. And also could you tell me if you can have the usb connected and the ethernet at the same time because i had a problem with it.

Check your PM drevil
Check that you're not using a straight-through cable where you should be using a cross-over, or vice-versa.
The 5 seconds of connectivity when you first power on the modem is probably a diagnostic light and not a link light at all.
