spectatorship

ok ive been trying to log into the g u server for 2 hours and counting
is there anyway i can get a reserved slot now or just kick all the noobs or even make a timelimit after u play for 5 hours u have to leave

how bout a real suggestion,
could u introduce the mod that kicks spectators afte 5 minutes
because half the time its just spectators leaving the comp on while they go have a drive or goto schoool

and exactly what sort of times are we talking about here, because as far as I was aware the servers are usually empty in the mornings, and I have never known of anyone to leave cs running when they've gone to school etc

and if there was a 5 hour limit, then you'd complain if you got kicked for that reason aswell, so it's not like we'll escape your whinging anyway.

Daughter, please be on level with ruckus, hes only trying to make some suggestions. The reason people are so fanatical about this server and are most unlikly to play elsewhere is the XP saved, which you cannot get anywhere else.
I myself havent had a problem getting onto the server, but im sure this is different to most people. The server has been running capacity since it opened, which is good. The 5 hour limit ruckus, just wouldnt work. However, the spectator idea is good. Be assured that all the admins do kick spectators when the server is full.

My tip for getting into the server: Try time your connect to the mapchange, people usually leave or have connection troubles.

Warnings are given to spectators...........either join game or be kicked :twisted:

I'll be either adding a mod to kick inactive spec's or banning specs altogether.

sometimes i go off to answer the phone or grab some chips or whatnot, i leave it in spectator mode, I'd hate to get banned :S

I think that's a little drastic. Kicking fair enough, not banning. I mean hacking is a bannable offense, are you saying spectating is as bad as hacking?

Yes it hink spectators should probably be kicked if inactive but not banned as that is just too harsh.... the admin mod to auto kick would be a good idea, as the only time i have been a specator was when i logged in with 30 secs left on a map so no point in really playing that one :P And i can see the point of ruckus as i have had man times of spending over hlaf an hour trying to get into the GU server as it is soo damn fun to play :P

You misunderstand - when i say banning it, I mean not making the option of becoming a spectator available, NOT banning people who go into spec mode.

If you dont join a team, u get kicked for a period of inactivity (idling).
once you have selected a team, u cannot go into spectator mode.
In fact, Spectator mode is not available at all.
