i got a volcano 9 and set it on manual to run at about 4200 rpm. usdm gives me 51 C if i leave the case open and 59 C closed. add an extra couple of degrees if the cpu is on load.
Well providing he doesn't have a monster case that screams like the latest offering from Airbus Industries, or possible enough fans to make personal intercontinental travelling possible and it's in Darwin. It is a fairly good temperature. Considering of what he's also running in the case. A hot running graphics card and other stuff will run up the CPU temp. I've got a silent case here in Melbourne with temps indoors around 16C with the CPU running 59C on load.
My 3200 + runs at 50 max under full load, but then again, I have 4 case fans, 1 exhaust fan, 2 fans on the PSU, 2 fans on the HS and a 3 fan HDD cooler ...... :?
From that comparation, I reckon that temps not too bad and least ur computer doesn't sound like a stageing aircraft :?
Though I thought Cooler PC's was more for the hardcore aspects of personal machines and enthusists section (moddes). This is a hardware forum and a discussion regarding temps is good.
And yeah I'm in Melbourne for uni at the moment will be back at end of year.
I got a 2200+ with a volcano 7 attached. Me case has 2 fans, one in window and one at the back. I have arctic silver III applied.
I get about 50-55 and prolly higher under load i guess. A couple times (rare) when we had a cool dry season morning it was in the mid to high 40's but didnt stay there for long because the cool air didnt hang around for very long :(.
hrm, since I changed my case... upped the temps 5 degrees from 35-40 to like 40+ full load.. 30degrees case temp, goto re-apply the thermal paste.. try that, make sure ya get the edges :D.. Also dont truse some mobos temps, ther fuxord..
Quote from Cr@zY DuCk: My 2100+ is using a Spire FalconRock II running at 35 degrees, no case fans..
I laugh at joo !
i laugh at joo!!! one of my machines is running a volcano7+ on an Athlon 2400+ with no case fans cept an antec psu and it sits on 28 degrees under full load so ner ner ner!!???!!!
NOW THAT IS FROSTY FOR AN ATHLON BOYS AND GIRLS!!!
EDIT: back to the topic mate that is quite acceptable up there, besides amd state that their cpu's can handle up to 95 degrees although i have never seen this happen!!!
