Pc boot problem...

fixed it. As always, the solution was a really simple one. New power supply fixed it. :/ Oh well at least now I can play wow properly with a gig of ram Thanks for all the help guys :)

I took it back to the place today because I could have sworn the mobo was simply rooted. They plugged it in with my ram and cpu and tell me it works fine, the only problem was that the heatsink wasn't clipped on properly, which is a load of shit because I had just unclipped it before I took it to them... at any rate…

I shouldn't matter whatthe rest of the comp is if I've only got the cpu ram and video card plugged in and the problem is still happening. No I didn't need a converter for my power supply cable. What else do you need to know about the psu?

the cpu is brand new, as with the mobo and ram. no other case fans other than the heatsink one. I tried running it barebones with just cpu ram and video card. It turns on for about 5seconds and then turns off. I can't get into bios or anything.

Checked the heatsink and fan, even removed the thermal paste that came with it and reapplied some silver thermal paste. Doesn't make a difference. Pc boot problem...

Righto I just put in a new mobo and cpu, connected everything up correctly afaik and start it up. Everything goes for a few seconds, sounds like its working and then it all turns off. Is this an issue of my psu not being rated high enough or something else? Help greatly appreciated!

I didn't take it personally but while you are getting antsy at people for not having an open mind, at the same time you are ignoring reports by people who actually have a clue about physics and how this sort of thing works as well as other points which you just disregard and say "err you just don't have an open mind"
