  • How to unblock Flickr in the UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China

It's blocked by many national filters, and anyone attempting to view it will get a message similar to this:

Name:	flickr_blocked_uae.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	42.1 KB
ID:	601567

However, there's actually a very easy fix; simply install Firefox add-on 4286, titled Access Flickr!

Once installed and your browser restarted, just visit flickr.com like normal, and you'll get straight through.

I wouldn't discount our goverment blocking flickr because it might have porn on it if they manage to ever get their web filter through.

I'd use Tor if the website wasn't blocked here.

I've had heaps of people say "why not just use a proxy like vtunnel man" and similar responses... perhaps you don't get it. It's all f*cking blocked.

There are very few easily accessible avenues to take to get around it.

In the week I've been in the UAE, they've moved from blocking various aspects of Skype services (such as being able to received calls via Skype's "Online Number" system), to blocking Skype in its entirety.

That is crazy-stupid. And extremely inconvenient for me.
