My stomach had some problems later that night. But my tastebuds didn't care.

i gave it a crack today using your method as a guide.
                i used mince, ham, bacon
while it looks nowhere near as impressive as yours im keen to work on my process as it did taste kickass.

Your bacon work is very poor. It's more stuck-on like wounded pig flesh, than it is interwoven like a beautiful tartan cardigan of deliciousness.

Bacon tastes like bacon regardless of wither it is woven or wrapped.

I didn't work on it, Eater did, who is also in IT. The difference is that his bacon explosion was truly a labour of love. It was art.

Decided to finally make this - been meaning to for a long time and as I'm off my night job for a few days, you guys inspired me to finally give it a try.

Found streaky bacon at coles, it was the only bacon I could find that was the right thickness to weave properly but it was short so I made 3 smaller ones...which worked out well cause there was three of us.

Wove it together, coated it in Masterfoods Smokey BBQ Seasoning, topped with Italian Sausage (Couldn't find just the mince so I just bought sausages and squeezed the mince out of the casings), topped with crunchy bacon bits, and used Three 333 brand Smokey BBQ Sauce.

When they were done I glazed it with a mixture of the sauce and honey, put it back in for another 10 mins and then ate. Took about 2.5 hours in a gas oven @ 120 degrees (Mine doesn't go as low as 110).

Here are the pics of how it turned out:

                            1) Weaving Bacon (By far the best instruction in a recipe to date)
                            2) Adding filling
                            3) Raw Bacon Explosion
                            4) Ready for the oven
                            5) All 3 Done
                            6) Ready to eat
