I know ram is shit. I know mobo is skimpy. But they can be upgraded later.

Nearly identical to my new rig Lothar - and I am also suitably impressed.

        Nooice!

        I just bought:

        2500k
        Asrock Z68A-Extreme4-Gen3
        8GB Corsair DDR3-1600
        Crucial M4 128GB SSD
Kept my 5870 from the old build (will upgrade it when ATI/nvidia release their new cards next year).

Boot and load times are crazy with the SSD, usually into Windows in less than 20 seconds from a cold boot. Only issue is managing how much stuff I have installed on it, 128GB is a bit small after having a 1.2TB RAID 0 setup for the last few years.

Hmmph. I just picked up another Commodore 64 and 1541 disk drive from the bus station, looks like I need to get with the times...

But I do get 25fps with Boulderdash, BeachHead II and Bruce Lee.
