Some classics that might be overlooked:

Hercules Returns (just try renting it)

Get Over It (undiscovered comic gem, very quotable)

      Wings of Honneamise (brilliant, moving)
      - similarly, anything by Hayao Miyazaki -

La Double` vie de Veronique (confusing, but it stars Irene` Jacob .. one of only woman I ever fell in love with on sight)

City of Lost Children (the French make some trippy films)

Judge Dredd (bad script, somehow worked really well)

      Citzen Kane (duh)

oooh, watched Labyrinth for probably the 1000th time yesterday...goddamn that's a good movie Bowie makes the perfect goblin king.

Stephen King wrote both The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption... of the two Shawshank is the better...

i havent read shawshank redemption, but i love the movie. i read the green mile all the while saying it should be a movie, then the movie came out and the bit where the old guy goes up to the shed where mr jingles is. iwas like, 'omg, they got in my head!' because most the movie from then on was just how i imagined it.... now thats some good moviemaking!
