        They said the same thing when the idea of seat-belts was being considered. They decided it was better not to have them, because the driver needs to be thrown from the car or jump out quickly to avoid being crushed by, or trapped in wreckage.

        Of course, actual sense eventually prevailed. They can simply unbuckle the seatbelt - and no, it's not safer to be thrown from a car (just make the car stronger).

        The same with eventually happen with the cockpit shields. They're smart chaps; like the buckle of seatbelts, they'll create a quick-release mechanism to make it easy and fail proof for the driver to get out of their enclosure, while stop debris smacking them in the face while driving.

        The biggest issue is environmental... the likes of bugs guts building up and rain reducing visibility.

        PS. they once worse leather helmets, too. lolz.

          ejection seats like jet fighters are the only logical option here, well proabably not but i would like to be watching and see some one "punch out"

          how fast were they going in the days of leather helmets?
