    Another Aussie development team bites the dust....

    US video games giant Electronic Arts is expected to announce closure of its Visceral Games subsidiary in Melbourne today, according to a number of reports on the Web.

    According to Kotaku Australia, a gaming Web site, Visceral has been working for three years on a PS3/Xbox 360 game.

    A source told Kotaku that Patrick Soderland, EA vice president, decided that the game would not be profitable and decided to can the project and the studio.

    The Melbourne staff are expected to be informed of the decision today.

    EA Visceral has studios at Redwood Shores and Los Angeles in California, Montreal and Shanghai as well as Melbourne. The Melbourne studio has worked on a number of top games, including Dead Space, Godfather 2 and Dante's Inferno
